Can you do movie reviews or music reviews?

posted Jun 08, 2010 1:57 PM by ashleyryll

It can be movie, music, or book reviews, and there is no requirement on the length.

posted Jun 08, 2010 5:21 PM by arcade121234

Can it just be a comment on the book and not an actual "reveiw"?

posted Jun 08, 2010 5:24 PM by arcade121234

How are the winners picked? Is it the BEST review or just a random review pulled out of a hat?
How do you know that your post qualified?

posted Jun 09, 2010 9:01 AM by ald_teensmel

Winners are picked at random..... except if one that's randomly picked has like two words, I'm going to pick something else instead. You have a better chance the more reviews you have. Multiple winners each drawing.

posted Jun 11, 2010 2:04 PM by writerchic

Do the review stay in the "pot" until they are drawn or do you start fresh after each drawing?

I read An Assembly Such as This which is Pride and Prejudice from Mr. Darcy's perspective. It was written by a Jane Austen fan who is also a librarian named Pamela Aiden. If you love Pride and Predjudice, you should read An Assembly Such as This and the 2 other books in this trilogy. You will really love them!

Hey, my name is Hannah and this is my review for the book Bernetta Wallflower. First, I would just like to say that this book was a quick read, but it was very detailed and interesting. The main plot is that this girl named Bernetta Wallflower was framed for starting a cheating ring at her school, Mount Olive. She is then stripped of her scholarship for 7th grade, and has to make nine thousand dollars to go back. She meants this guy and they con people out of their money, but you have to read the book to find out what happens, as the story takes many unexpected turns. and second, I just wanted to say that this book was gripping. I read it in one day because i just couldn't put it down. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes suspense and a quick read. This book is awesome!

my name is leila and i wanted to post a comment for the book Elijah of Buxton. First, the book Elijah of Buxton is a very detailed book even though it doesn't have any pictures. Second, the book is mainly about how a friend, named Elijah, went out of buxton to help get his friends money from a former slave that stole money from his friend, Cooter. I extremley recommend this book to teens that are close friends!

Hi Boxerlover, Yes, you can win more than once. I'm not sure what you mean by comment or review - as I wrote before, it is random but if it's "great book" I'll probably throw it out. If it's a comment on someone else's review, like, "this book sounds good," I'll probably throw it out too.

this is my review for the book, i think it is called Sisters of the Sword. Sisters of the Swords is about two girls whose father dies in a war that they are having. When they find out that he has died, they want to join the war, for their father, but they cannot join the war unless they are boys. So what do you think they did? Your right they cut their hair to look like boys in order for them to join the war. This story is a tale about 2 girls who are in for an amzing, but dangerous journey. The rest you will have to find out in the book.

I just read the book House Rules by Jodi Picoult. It was really long but a good book very quick read. I finished it in 3 days. It was about a boy with autism who obsessed with crime scenes. He has a police radio and is always showing up and telling the cops what to do. After the body of his tutor is found, he is accused of murdering her.

Sorry I am writing my review late. My name is Alex, and this is not a book review, this is a music review. This review is on punk rock band Rise Against's album, The Sufferer & The Witness. This album is an expression of rage and shows a strong message against war. The song, Prayer of the Refugee, shows what soldiers are doing in order for people not fighting in the war to be safe. One line,"But we've been sweating while you slept so calm in the safety of your home", is a great example of the message that is delivered in this song. In another song, Behind Closed Doors, basically speaks o the government hiding information that the people deserve to know. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I would give the album a 7. The album was written very well, but the content was no surprise. The band is named Rise Against, and I would highly expect their songsto be about the rebelion of the war. I hope people find this review helpful in there music selection. By the way, this album is srong on guitar riffs and has loud drums. If you do not listen to punk music of any kind, I would not recommend this album, otherwise, enjoy the album and the lyrics that were written with deep thought.

Graceling is simply amazing. The plot is very entertaining. This book is about a girl named Katsa who has the grace of killing. A grace is the ability to do something better than anyone else. She meets this guy named Po, who has a grace of fighting. Because she is under the power of a king who uses her power for evil, she soon learns to fight for herself and defend others. She sets a journey and experiences wonderful things such as romance and self-definition. My favorite book by far and a compelling story. A must read for all and I'm hoping for a movie!!

posted Jul 02, 2010 1:05 AM by starbright38

Fire is the companion to Graceling, which is also an amazing book. This book is about a girl named Fire, who is a monster in the shape of a human, with powers to control people's minds around her. From the beginning, anyone can tell her intentions are pure, and that even though she is a monster, she doesn't wish to be who she is. She is close friends with Archer and they care for each other dearly. With many spies and mysterious archers in her friend Archer's forest, they set on a journey to their friend, Roen, who might lend them information about the mysterious deaths happening and lend them some soldiers. At Roen's fortress, she finds Prince Brigan, whose hatred towards Fire is incredibly strong. His hatred is the outcome of the actions of Fire's father, who was a human monster that caused many problems the for the country of Dells and was responsible for the state of the kingdom since he was controlling the mind of King Nax. This book is filled with exciting twists and heart-wrenching moments. Never had I read a book that made me feel closer to the characters. I will never forget this book's impact on me. Very cleverly written and beautifully told. A must read for everyone!

Hi my name is Stephanie. I read the book Spring Break by Katherine Applegate, which is supposedly the third in the series that begins with Beach Blondes. I believe that this book should be second since many things happened that aren't explained in Tan Lines, which is a book that is also a book in the series. This series is AMAZING. The plot is very amusing and very entertaining. After reading this, since I read this first, I had to get Beach Blondes and Tan Lines. In my opinion, Beach Blondes was better than either by far. The thickness did suprise me at first, but I started getting into it and was very suprised at how good the book was. It's about a group of friends spending summer break with boys and it's very entertaining to see how this book goes. This series is great for people who likes romance, because I certainly was very pleased by the series and can't wait for the next one.

Hi my name is Stephanie. I read the book Downsiders by Neal Shusterman. I've read many books from Neal Shusterman, such as Everlost and Unwind. This book is about a city below New York City. The people who live there waste nothing. Their clothes and weapons are made from paperclips, wallets, tin foil, etc. When a Downsider goes to the Topside, above ground, to get medicine for his sick sister, he meets a girl named Lindsay. Together, they create a lot of mayhem, but that is only because Downsiders do not like Topsiders. They fall in love but a very important event happens that they need to combine knowledge and evidence from both worlds to save many lives and the culture of Downsiders. This book went somewhat slow for me. I'm not sure if it's the events that weren't exciting but the characters that weren't intriguing. Near the end, the pace picked up and this is a decent read.

Hi my name is Stephanie and the movie I recently saw was "The Haunting in Connecticut." This movie was supposed to be 'scary' but it really wasn't a good 'scary' movie. It was more sad than anything. It was about a sick boy moving near a hospital with his family. They didn't know it was a funeral home and that the ghosts' spirits were trying to haunt them. The sick boy was constantly seeing images and he went through many emotional struggles as he figures out what to do. This movie was an ok movie because of the plot line.

Hi, my name is Tiffany. This is my online book review. I recently just read a book called Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. This is an amazing book where a girl named Nora gets partnered up with a new senior named Patch. From the very beginnning, she gets really annoyed with him for not working with her on their first assignment. As time goes on, she starts falling for him. However, she is scare to love him since she finds him to be very dangerous. As she continues to hang out with him, she starts uncovering a secret that just might cost Nora her life. The book is filled with twists and turns that keep the reader wanting more. For those who love paranormal romances, this should be your next pick.

Hi, my name is Tiffany and this is my online book review of the novel, The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. This book is pure romance. It's one of the cutest book I have read about two teenagers in love. There were plenty of heart-breaking moments and a bunch of sweet moments. Starting with a girl named Lennie who is grieving over her sister's death. She lives with her Gram and Uncle Big-her mother left her as a child. Lennie is constantly following others around like her sister. She plays the second clarinet because she is afraid of all the greatness that she can achieve. When a new boy,Joe, at school from Paris who everyone is crazy about gives her joy in life again, she finds herself falling for him. Joe is constantly bugging Lennie to play with him- he plays basically every instrument. Also, she is falling for her sister's boyfriend, Toby. Everytime they are together, they would start making out and almost had sex because then they can get closer to Bailey, the dead sister. Lennie has to learn to balance the two worlds out so that they won't collide.

Hi, my name is Tiffany and this is my online book review of the novel, Heist Society by Ally Carter. I really enjoyed this book because of all the danger, the trill, and the mischiefs. The protagonist is Kat and she has a crush on her friend, Hale. She separated herself from the family business of stealing expensive and famous artworks. However, her father got into trouble with a very dangerous man and so she has to come back to save him. The only way to do this is to steal back the paintings that the man blamed her father for stealing. This book has a lot of twists and keeps the reader engaged to see how Kat can pull off something so risky. For those who have loved Ally Carter's I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You, you will also enjoy this one.

Hi, my name is Tiffany and this is my online book review of Avalon High by Meg Cabot. This book ties into the story of King Arthor. It is supposed to be a modern version of it. Knowing this information from the very beginning of the book, the reader can easily predict what will be happening in the story. I believe this book is too predictable. This is a easy summer read for girls who love chick lits. Not really an impressive book, but there are romance and some small violence.

Hi, my name is Tiffany and this is my online book review of the novel, The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. Basically as the title says, the protagonist is a girl named Violet and she has the ability to sense murdered people. Those senses are all different and are attached to the ones who killed them. She has to use her powers to help find a local murderer with her best friend/ crush, Jay. This book has romance, mystery, violence, and trill. One of the mose unique part of the book is that the author would sometimes have small chapters from the perspective of the murderer, which allows the reader to see how a sick, twisted human being could think. I really enjoyed this book and it's definately a must read for all.

It is disappointing to ask to have a book listed so I can review it and then have you say you won't list it.

Hi bsbent, What book did you ask to be listed that you were told couldn't be listed? 'Cause I'm the person who handles that and I don't see any requests that I haven't filled? Also, for bsbent or anyone else who can't find a book, doesn't know how to look for a book, or doesn't want to wait for a book to be posted, you can just do it here on this page. Or really, any page. All comments filter to one location so no matter where you post them, they will be seen and they will be entered into the drawing. Hope that helps!

Hi, my name is Leslie and this is my online book review of the novel, A Match Made in High School by Kristin Walker.Within high schools, there are different cliches that forms. There are the jocks, geeks, nerds, etc. Often times, people within a group hang out with their own people, they do not associate with other people from other groups. This book is about how two different cliches are forced to work together through a marriage ed course. Staffs within their high school, believe the number one reason for the divorce rates to be so high is due to a nurmerous amount of adults not having the experience of being committed together. Staffs believe that if students were to take the course, divorce rate wouldn't be so high. Through this course, students are partner with their opposite sex. The main character, Fiona, got stuck with Todd, a male cheerleader, not to mention her arch enemy. At the very beginning, Todd gave a very clear message that this will be her worst nightmare. Through Todd's teasing and harrassment, it fire Fiona up to get revenge. Fiona main purpose through her revenge is to get Todd mad, but for every stunt that she did, it did the opposite, Todd was actually enjoying it instead of being angry. Through their little war between each other, they also got to know a little bit more about each other. As they get to know more and more about each other, the war between them loosen up a little. In the end, they became friends. Also, throught this experience for Fiona, it made her a better person, and she came out of her comfort zone and did things that she thought she would never do, such as cheerleading. Most of all, she found her first love, Johnny.

Hi, my name is Leslie and this is my online book review of the novel, Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix. The book deals with a issue in America that not everyone seems to fully understand. The issue deals with kids who are adopted and are trying to cope with the fact that their real parents gave them away. In this book, Jonah, the main character always knew that he was adopted, but every now and then he starts to wonder what kind of characteristics did he inherit from them. Also, he wondered about why he was given away. Jonah's adoptive parents are really open with having discussion about his adoption. Jonah's friend, Chip, is also adopted, but he has a hard time coping with being adopted. With Chip's adoptive parents, they do not want to talk about the issue. Chip always has this curiousity drive in him, and with this characterisic of his, it leads Chip, Jonah, and Katherine (Jonah's unbiological sister) to a qwest on finding out more about their real parents and the reasons behind their adoption. As they go more and more into their little investigaton they found out that they are more than just kids who are adopted, they are time travelers. To be exact, they are important people in history that had travel in time to the future! I would totally recommend this book, because it was really entertaining to read.

Hi, my name is Leslie and this is my online movie review on The Proposal. For movies, the audience expects it to be entertaining or worthwhile. For me, it was definitely entertaining to watch. This movie is about how this guy, Andrew, would work three years without any vacation for his dream job, being a editor. However, working those years wasn't enough for his boss, Margaret. Margaret has the characteristics of being stuck-up, the know-it-all, and the attitude that everything revolves around her. When she found out she will be deported to Canada due to her visa expiring, she forced Andrew to marry her. If Andrew were to marry her, she won't have to be deported. With this scheme of Margaret, she has to do it the way that Andrew wants it to be done since he is the one that's helping her. Andrew's initial plan is to make her pay for all the hard times that she has given to him at work. In order to make this scheme ideal, Margaret will have to follow Andrew to his grandmother's 90th birthday party. During their visitation with Andrew's family, their big fat lie starts to elaborate more and more as people are starting to ask questions. Right off, people starts to believe in their many lies that they created through the questions. Andrew's grandmother pops the queston of having them marry the day of her 90th birthday instead of having a birthday party for her. The grandmother's motive behind this is so then she will finally see her grandson get marry before she dies. The couple was hesitant with agreeing to the plan, because that would involve them into more trouble. Through this trip to Andrew's family, Margaret has fallen for Andrew and she starts to love his family, and she does not want his family suffer due to her selfish actions. She confess to the immigrantion officier that the wedding was a sham on the day of the wedding and due to her confessing at will, the case turned into a civil matter. Meaning Andrew won't have to face charges. When she walks away from everyone at the wedding, that was when Andrew finally realize that he loves her and he won't let them take her away from him. He chases after her to tell her that he loves her, and asks her to marry him. They went back to the immigration department and said that they are engage for the second time and this time it was for real and is serious about it.

Hi, my name is Leslie and this is my online book review on a novel, Beach Blondes by Katherine Applegate. The main character, Summer, has never had a boyfriend in her life, but she has a crush on this popular guy in school, Sean. However, Sean never had a interest in Summer. She is pretty much desperate for a change in her life, because her parents are literally on a brickmanship of a divorce and she feels pretty much like a loser. When her mom pops up the question of whether she wants to visit her aunt Mallory, Summer immediately said yes to it. Summer did not have a clue in her mind of what might this trip brings to her. Never had she suspected it, but through this trip she had met three amazing guys. One she met at the airport, the other one she met at a party that he hosted, and the last one on her rooftop. Along meeting those three guys, she also became friend with Marquez. Marquez is the type of girl who wants to have all the fun she can have before she gets serious about her career. Due to Summer being new in town, Marquez decides to bring her to one of Adam's party, one of the three guys that Summer met. Through this party, Adam and Summer got the chance to know each other and that was their beginning in their relationship. But the relationship didn't ended long, due to Adam's brother, Ross. Ross is a alcohol addict and he once attempted to raped Diana, Summer's cousin. From the incident, Adam knows everything that happened, but even though Ross is at fault Adam still stand by him. Because of that action, Summer dumped him for good. The guy whom Summer met at the airport is Seth. Summer and Seth accidentally have a kissing incident and through this kiss of theirs, it made Seth wanted to have a relationship with Summer. Through Seth's continuous perseverance, Summer finally agree to have a relationship with him. Their love keeps on growing stronger and stronger on every date that they have. The third guy, Diver, Summer didn't have any attraction whatsoever with him beside admitting that he is cute. Little did Summer suspected it, Diver ends up being Jonathan, her brother who was kidnapped at the age of two, but she never got the chance to meet him. The visit only lasted for the summer so knowing that sooner or later she will have to leave everything behind and go back to her reality in Minnosota, Summer is devastated to break up with Seth. However, in the end, Summer and Seth finally found a solution to the problem.

Hi, my name is Leslie and this is my online book review on a novel, Spring Break by Katherine Applegate. From the experience that Summer has over the last summer in Florida, she can't wait to go back again to the luxury that Florida has to offer. Summer was hoping during spring break, she will get a chance to really hang out with her boyfriend, Seth, but little does she knows it, troubles starts to form. Seth and Summer has to take separate flights to Florida due to Seth's aunt marriage. On Summer's flight, she was graciously lucky to be sitting next to a hottie named Austin. Summer starts to fall for this guy whom she hardly knows, but when Austin rush out of the plane at last minute, he accidentally left his notebook behind. This caused Summer to missed her flight. Knowing what a kind person Summer is, she chased after him to hand it to him, but she took too long. This forced Summer and Austin to take the next flight to Florida. Originally, Summer was determined to spend as much time as possible with Seth, but Austin got in the way of that. As Summer and Austin got to know each other more and more, they both starts to fall for each other. Summer falls so hard for Austin that she can't fight the urge to want to kiss him even though she has a boyfriend. When Seth caught them together making out, this causes a major problem in their relationship, because not only is Seth hurt, but their relationship is officially over. Thanks to Diana, Summer and Seth relationship is saved due to Diana convincing Seth to forgive Summer, because not only did Summer committed a wrongful doing, but the same can be said for Seth!

This is another review for the book Legacy by Cayla Kiuver! I totally loved this book! In it, Alera suffers from an arranged marriage to a man she doesnt like. She meets someone else who she does like, but there is no way for her to marry him because of what society thinks. What makes this book even cooler is that the author is only 16, but its written so well that she seems much older! I loved this book and give it a 9/10!! i cant wait for the next one!

The Rabbit's Escape Jessica Lee This is a story about the rabbit and turtle. The turtle went to find the rabbit, because "Dragon king" of the East Sea became ill. The only way, the king can save himself is to get a rabbit's liver. The turtle used wise counsel and went back to the sea kingdom with a rabbit. Rabbit told Dragon king, "My liver has such special powers that is always in demand. I use it mostly at night and keep it hidden in the daytime. If only the turtle had told me of Your Majesty's need. I would gladly have brought it with me." Dragon king believed the rabbit, then get back to the rabbit. But rabbit ran away as soon as he arrived. Turtle cried. A god, who had been watching over the turtle, suddenly appeared and gave a ginseng for him. After I read this story I admired the loyalty of turtle and wondered the wise counsel of rabbit escaped from a dangerous situation.

Hi my name is Stephanie. I recently read the book The Body Finder, which my sister has recommended. This is about a girl who has the ability to sense dead bodies, if they were murdered, and the murderer. She does this by detecting senses, such as a certain smell or sight. She likes Jay, who has been her best friend for as long as she can remember. There was a murderer in her neighborhood. Many people that she knew were at first disappearing and then dying. She finds these people and figured out that she was the only person who could figure it out. She has the ability to find the murderer! With Jay to help her, she sets out to find him, but figures out that he's out to get her next. This book was a very good read.

Hi my name is Stephanie. I read The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This book is the first in the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Percy Jackson thought he was a regular kid. He was a troubled kid though. He struggled with ADHD and dyslexia. In school, he had one friend, Grover, and together, they look out for each other. One day on a field trip, his teacher, Ms. Dodds, wanted to see him. She never liked him and he never liked her. She turned into a giant bird and when he was saved by his other teacher, he finds out that he's not normal. He is special even compared to people like him, Half-Bloods. I thought this book was very good but for me, it was an easy read.

Hi my name is Stephanie and I read the book A Match Made in High School. This book is hilarious and romantic at the same time. Phoebe and Todd were paired up in Marriage class even though they could not be farther apart. They push each other to the limit and they reach many complications, such as self-realization. In this book, there is drama, betrayal, and love. Out of ten, this book would get an 7.

Hi my name is Stephanie and I read Flirting with Boys by Hailey Abbott. Celeste had a boyfriend who always got in trouble. When summer came, he had to work for Celeste's father on their resort. Celeste didn't mind, she could spend more time with her boyfriend, Travis. Then she remembers Nick, who was her parents' best customer. They always flirt and this summer would be no different, except for the fact that Travis would be watching her evey move. She has to keep them from killing each other and she has to keep Nick happy at all times. This book is really good. I like the romance and her humor. This book would deserve a 9 out of 10.

Hi my name is Stephanie and I read the book These Boots sre Made For Stalking. This is book number twelve in the series The Clique. I believe that book is the best one in a while. Massie meets a boy, Landon, who she really likes. They have everything in common, good fashion and love for their dogs. They have been hanging out a lot, until she finds out that a girl with a bird on her ankle has been around him too. She goes snooping around his school and the parties that he goes to to figure out how to win him back. The rest of her friends have agreed to leave their crushes for high school ones, and they struggle to do that. This book mainly focuses on Massie and her love life. I think this book is a major improvement that the previous books.

My name is Tiffany and this is my review for Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles. I really enjoyed this book. It is a sequel to Perfect Chemistry; however, this book can be read without reading Perfect Chemistry. I would still recommend people to read Perfect Chemistry first to understand the background infomation first. The main character is the main character of Perfect Chemistry's brother. This is his story of how he moves to Colorado to live with his brother and falls for a nerd. He has to stay away because he will hurt her if he gets murder by a drug dealer. Rules of Attraction is a book dealing with gang and gang violence. It also talks about staying out of gangs and getting out of gangs. This is not some books about some dream that people have or some wish. It is very deep and it deals with real life issues. The novel is a fun and enjoyable read with lots of humor and some adult contents. It is definately one of my favorite book.

My name is Tiffany and this is my review for Swoon at Your Own Risk by Sydney Salter. This is absolutely a chick flick about a girl named Polly who has dating issues where she is always trying to be someone else. When her grandma comes to live with her for a while, she asks her (since the grandma is Ms. Swoon, a dating advisor) for help. Polly has to learn how to love again and fall in love. She struggles a lot throughout the novel to find her identity. It is a good and easy summer read.

My name is Tiffany and this is my review for As You Wish. It is about a girl, Viola, getting to make 3 wishes on a genie. The genie wants to go back home so that he does not have to age while he is on earth; however, Viola wants to take her time and get the wish she really wants. As the two spend more time together, they starts to fall for each other. This book has some really sweet, cute moments as well as some boring and predictable moments. It is nice, short read.

My name is Tiffany and this is my review for Shadowland by Alyson Noel. This is the third book of the Immortal series. In order to truely understand what is going on in the book, readers should definately read the other two book; Evermore and Blue Moon. The book goes on where Ever and Damen has to deal with the curse that Roman placed on them with the "antidote". Ever starts falling for another guy and Damen starts moving farther away from her. There are so much twists and turns throughout the entire novel. I was shocked around every corner. Readers would love this book if they enjoy paranormal romances.

My name is Tiffany and this is my review for The Book of Luke by Jenny O'Connell. The girl has to move and on the day that she moves, her boy-friend dumps her. Once she goes back to her old school, her old friends want her to help change a boy-friend's ex to become a better boyfriend so that the friend can date him again. While the girl tries her best to change him, they both fall for each other. This book is really cute and is every girls' dream for it to happen to them (at least I wish it would happen to me). It is a very enjoyable read.
